Bandit Oktoberfest Returns on September 28th!

What started out as a small gathering of friends in 2016 to celebrate the legendary nuptials of King Ludwig and Princess Therese has turned into our yearly staple celebration and a favourite holiday for the Bandit Brewery family. “The German beer gardens were one of our original inspirations when building the brewery, so it’s very special to see people come together on our large communal tables to celebrate Oktoberfest with us,” shares Shehzad Hamza, owner of Bandit Brewery.

With every passing year, our party has gotten a little bigger and a little more fun. The planning usually begins in mid-Summer, when our brewery team first meets to discuss what the special Bandit Oktoberfest beer release will be this year. The challenge is to either follow a classic Bavarian recipe, like our Kolsch and Dark Lager in 2017, or to brew something using exclusively German noble hops, all with a Bandit twist. This year we’ll be releasing HoppelHosen, a new version of our popular Hoppelgänger brewed with new German hops - Mandarina Bavaria, Huell-Melon, and Hallertau. HoppelHosen will become available for Bandit Oktoberfest on Friday, September 22nd, and will remain on tap for the entirety of the weekend or until supplies last. Our beloved Bandit raccoon steins will return for the entirety of the weekend after the main party (September 28th- 30th) and will also be available for purchase in our bottle shop.

No party is complete without food, and our chef has put together a feast of updated Bavarian classics to be served straight from the patio BBQ. Some of our new food offerings during our Bandit Oktoberfest party include:

  • House-made Bratwurst with caramelized onions, sage, and apricots

  • Mushroom and potato perogies with creme fraiche

  • Pretzel sticks with curried ketchup

  • Vegan German potato salad

  • Sauerkraut

Our friends from The Beer Barrel Band will also be returning for a third year to lead us into a series of “Prosts!” and delight us with all the Oompah classics. There’s a small chance that the Crazy Chicken may be making an appearance!

Bandit Oktoberfest will take place on Friday, September 28th starting at 5 pm. The Beer Barrel Band will perform 7:00 - 10:00 PM, and we recommend getting here a bit earlier in order to secure good seats for the show.

HoppelHosen (Dry-Hopped Pilsner, 5%) will be available on tap and in the bottle shop on the same day.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you. Lederhosen encouraged!
