Back in February, when we released the first version of our series of barrel-aged blends, Elements, we were already working on the following 3 versions. Since then we've released different variations of blends from our barrel program, one Saison blend and two Sour blends to be precise. It's been a little while since the release of Elements #3, since we wanted to pace ourselves in order to release the fourth version well into the Summer season, knowing well-ahead that we had something really special conditioning in bottles. Well, the time has finally come for us to release the beauty that is Elements #4, a lively and complex blend of two of our barrel-aged Farmhouse Ales.

Our initial goal was to create a Farmhouse Ale with a punchier profile, upping the spice and the tartness, while still maintaining the crisp and refreshing aromas desired from the style. Elements #4 is a blend of two fairly different beers: a classic Saison aged in wine barrels and a barrel version of our Farmed & Dangerous Saison aged with Brett and Lactobacillus, which provides this beer with its distinct funk. This second barrel's strong Brett and oak flavours were nicely toned down by the innate sweetness and spice of the Saison yeast, resulting in a smoother and better-balanced beer.

Elements #4 has strong aromas of Brett and orange peel, rich flavours of oak and a light hint of blue cheese. It finishes with a moderate dryness and a pleasant smoothness resulting from the bottle conditioning.

Elements #4 will be available in 375 ml. format on Friday, June 21st in our brewpub, bottle shop and on our online store (free shipping on orders of over $100, y'all!).

We are delighted to announce that we’re partnering once again with our friends at The 519 to celebrate #PRIDE! Continuing our commitment to inclusivity and diversity, we’ll be donating $1 of every bottle of Elements #4 (Barrel Aged Farmhouse Ale Blend / 5.5%) sold to support the vital and significant work that The 519 does to promote the health, happiness and full participation of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
